Jennifer Wang Yihan

Born in China and now based in Singapore, Jennifer Wang Yihan is a contemporary artist whose practice bridges Eastern artistic traditions with contemporary visual expression. Working across painting, calligraphy, and conceptual storytelling, her works explore memory, identity, emotion, and the evolving relationship between humanity and civilization.
Recognized internationally for her distinctive artistic language, Jennifer represented Chinese young artists at the Paris Art Exhibition commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between China and France, where she was awarded the Medal of Honor by the French Government. Her works have since entered distinguished private collections across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
The Practice
Jennifer's artistic practice transforms intangible emotions and philosophical ideas into richly layered visual narratives.
Through expressive brushwork, luminous colour, and symbolic composition, she invites viewers to reconsider the relationship between abstraction and representation, tradition and innovation, the individual and society.
GENESIS
A contemporary mythology for the digital age.
GENESIS marks a new chapter in her practice. Rather than depicting the past, the series imagines the mythology of a future civilization, one in which cities, guardians, and collective values become symbols of humanity's next cultural evolution. Set within the imagined city of Blockhaven, four Guardians — Dragon (Permanence), Wolf (Trust), Fox (Wisdom), and Pigeon (Connection) — watch over a civilization where technology, nature, and humanity exist in harmony.
Through this body of work, Jennifer explores how contemporary society may create new myths while remaining connected to timeless human ideals.
